Ulupono Initiative is a Hawaii-focused impact investment firm. Ulupono – meaning to prosper through the right, or pono, path – is rooted in the local wisdom that a healthy environment and a healthy economy go hand in hand. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for island residents in three areas: more renewable energy, more locally produced food, and less waste. By supporting local efforts to improve our economy and environment, Ulupono Initiative ultimately aims to enrich the lives of Hawaii's people.

Hawaiʻi Agricultural Foundation (HAF) is a non-profit organization created to promote agriculture and farming. Created in 2007 (initially as The Hawaiʻi Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture, and renamed The Hawaiʻi Agricultural Foundation in 2010), the mission of HAF is to support and sustain Hawaiʻi’s agricultural industry by addressing the critical needs and services of farmers and the industry in Hawaiʻi, and by better connecting them with the community and vice-versa. This involves educational and outreach programs in the community, as well as direct marketing, technical, educational and in-the-field support for farmers.

Hawaii has a long history of feeding her people with an abundance of wholesome, organically grown food. Only in the past century has self-sustaining agriculture been replaced by chemically based monoculture and the importation of basic foods.

Compost Hawaii is the premier curbside compost collection service for Hawai’i. Members of our Big Island Compost Network use the buckets we provide to collect organic waste, and each week we come around to pick it up and take it to one of our compost sites where it’s transformed into a super rich soil amendment.
